Ares rules for music, Utorrent rules for the rest. Enough said. Oh yeah, and people still do download single songs ;)

Small tip, DONT USE BITTORRENT FOR PIRATING! Its an open stream with no encryption. The first and only time I used BitTorrent my ISP forwarded me an email from the US government concerning piracy and cease and desist. Been using uTorrent ever since and its been fine. That was over a year and 100 torrents ago.

I didn't think torrents had any encryption at all....

Ahwell. Just be careful what tracker you are using. There are some sites that are invite only, and you can download all sorts of stuff if you keep your ratio above 1:1.

So the feds can't see what your downloading, some clients use mild encryption, then it gets through the simple scans. Its nothing complicated, its just about checking for potential piracy activity, then they can get the destination address, and they send a cease and desist to your ISP, who then forward it to you. BitTorrent is straight up torrenting, un-encrypted stream, easy for fed automated scanners to pick up piracy.

Next part is all theory. I think theres like a huge ass federal network in the USA that all traffic must flow through at one point, and that's when its scanned. Again, all theory.

Wrong. No p2p program encrypts data. Cause downloading would be too slow. And lets assume that the data is encrypted. Whats the use of that? They can still see your IP.

Internet is a free place. People would go apeshit if the US is tracking your internet usage. Plus, it would be too much traffic to track. I don't think anything can hold the US's internet usage without severely bottlenecking.

Also, I'm sure it's discussable whether such a thread should be considered against the rules (warez), but I'm closing it either way.
