well i did a simple search, and i didnt find it yet but.. If possible, can chain guns, medium chain guns, 50 cal HMG, 50 cal MG, DU HMG, DU MG, standard machine gun, and possibly rifleman HMG destroy missiles? use them as anti-missile roles. i would even go as far as making turrets able to intercept missiles. atm, its pretty hard to content to mass missile spams on your barracks ;<, especially if ur losing. cannons are more bearable since theres larger portion of the rounds that dont land on its targets.
chaffs... we had a few threads on them. Im sure it would be cool as hell if grenadiers could alt fire a chaff with mortar.
Chaffs? im thinking more like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgpQBZF2sZQ cause most of the time.. u can see nukes coming >.> and u cant do shit. actively shooting at missiles, not releasing cloud of debri around would be what im going for. if possible, give missiles HP, so they can be shot down. seems fair to use ur chain gun or machine gun to shoot slow moving missiles down. of course u cant shoot down shells from cannons since they "travel fast"
This did work some time ago (well tank weapons could destroy other tank missles). Not sure what changed.
Would make cannons too good.. But you can always jump in front of a missle(something I often do to save useless stuff)
Would need rebalancing, also shooting down nukes with chainguns makes nukeheavys pertty much pointless, meh ... Don't really see the point in making chainguns the std equipment for every single vehicle.
If you manage to hit badly interpolated missiles with badly interpolated vehicle machineguns then you deserve to render nuke heavies useless.

"other item" could be like a chaff-flare in the binoc slot for a scout. oldfag story of the day: Way back in the day you could shoot down damn near everything, especially with HE cannons, and mortars sometimes misfired and fell out of the sky shortly after being fired.
They just have more health now. Used to be nukes would set off other nukes constantly. Occasionally a gren vs. gren battle will result in someone launching a missile or mortar into another missile/mortar.
Nah, Krenzo commented out the piece of code responsible for downable rockets (and shells). Looked pretty pimp though, the munition burst aflame in mid-air and twirled towards the ground (and did full damage when it exploded, hence nukes spontaneously combusting other weapons). I kind of liked it, perhaps it would be a feature that certain vehicle MGs or anti-munition weapons could have?
That... That was disabled, yes. Missiles never burst aflame and twirled to the ground in any public build. That's not the behavior I'm referring to.

That's awesome to hear that it was deliberate, why was it removed though Beerdude? That pretty much means chaff is already coded :confused:
Can't the models for missiles and cannons still collide? I swear I've seen arty tank shells blow eachother up before on cross roads
