That was my dream... Then they changed Eternal Silence so it was all rigid and crap and you had to take out the enemy flyers before you could land and had to go through various phases...it was lame (imo). It was awesome when you could jump in a ship, burn to the other capital ship - taking on a fighter or two on the way, land, jump out and start hacking down the points and making the area spawnable for your mates to get in. Why do people mess with good ideas?

...really? A choice between turning a game from one where you have a number of choices available at once to just one choice through each stage of the game? To put it into perspective, it was like if Empires removed research and where you could only build in very specific places, or more like, if you only had one base per team and could build no new bases.
Judging from your first post, you made it sound more like removing the ability to APC rush, which doesn't sound bad at all.
If you go through life expecting to understand every creative decision you come across, you're going to struggle to relate to people. Different goals and different interpretations of available data cause different decisions to be made. There's no universal truth in humanity.

It was more of a rhetorical question bemoaning the fact that people change things that are working rather than "omg omg, I don't understand how anyone can change anything." Jesus.
