Alternate idea for APC-specific weapon.

A single upgraded GL is better than 2 non-upgraded GLs, if only because it fires twice as fast. In fact, if not for its limited magazine, it's almost as good as 3 GLs.

Also, a 3 GL tank doesn't work so fancy on the NF APC. You can't cover all the sides with 2 layers of armor, so you're always going to have one side where you can be one-shotted by an rpg.
