    Even though this suggestion was probably just a joke, there was an irc plugin for sourceforts with which all the talk on a server was also sent to an irc channel by a bot. It was a pretty effective admin tool when you could yell !admin or something (also having "griefer" in hilights was helpful) on the server and it would highlight the admins on irc. Also with a special prefix you could send messages from irc to the server chat. Something like that could be cool with special server-specific irc channels for example.
