A new players Thoughts, Concerns and Questions

    i remember when i first tried to play empires 1.0 back in the Hl2 source engine 3 or so years Ago

    WOW has this mod come a long way

    my friend from www.Europeinruins.com told me that empires was just out and released a new version

    i downloaded it 6 hours later, that was about 48 hours ago, Sience then i have gotten nearly 20 hours of play time in


    The game is amazing, ive gotten 5 friends to download and play it, the only problem we have had is the learning curve (no one know of Class Specific upgrades untill about 10 hours of play time, lawls!)

    from what ive read on these fourm's is that 2.2 is very new, and that there is alot of debate and wonder with it from the community

    first I love the Feel of the mod but i think the following 2 gun's are under powered

    1. Sniper Rifle
    2. heavy Machine gun

    the sniper Rifle should simply do more damage and kill no questions ask in a head shot situation.

    the heavy machine gun has to much recoil when prone

    now that youve read my thoughts and concerns here are some questions for ya
    1. is empires still being devloped
    2. are aircraft going to return?
    3. are more class\gen upgrades planned for the future
    4. are more class's planned for the future?
    5. i know you just moved from HL2 source to TF2 source, any possibility of moving over to l4d source when the SDK is released? if so why or why not.
    6. is there a page that i can go to that give's me the TECH tree in TECH TREE format and is there a page i can go to that descripes all the nades what they can do and what they do best? (NOTE NOT THE MANUAL!)

    The scout rifle used to be one shot kill when shooting people in the face, but now it has loads of falloff so it has become useless unless you're very proficient at shooting peoples faces off in close quarter combat situations.

    Scout rifle is being revamped for next version of empires, os for now just don't use it. :P

    thank you for the information, you mis understood question 3, question 3 refers to upgrades such as accuracy, health, ect

    Ive heard that the devs think about redesigning some skills/upgrades.
    Mostly the ones that arent really usefull or underpowered compared ot other.

    The sniper rifle will eventually get removed. The entire scout class is being redone to make it more effect at what it is supposed to be doing, sabbing, scouting, etc.

    They will probably get a shotgun to replace the sniper rifle. also, I've been pwned by scouts more often now than I ever have been before. Dunno why >.<

    If you are the squad leader with HMG and accuracy upgrade, the squad aura of a riflemen increases accuracy all around. It helps reduce the recoil of the HMG by a lot.

    Scout rifle got nerfed too much. It'll get better in an update that will be released soon.

    Remove rifle and force them to use smg!

    I have a gaming mouse that has a turbo click function (basically a toggle that makes 2-4 clicks after each manual mouse click). I noticed that when firing with the toggle function on, the HMG can fire almost as fast as full auto with no noticeable enlargement of crosshair.
    Normally, If you hold down the mouse for more than a second (literally) the gun wouldn't be able to hit anyone even in prone position.
    So, using the same principle, you can just click very fast and the HMG will have almost no recoil

    HMG should behave a lot different from an assault rifle, in my opinion, that'd make the weapons more interesting to use and adds more variety for different play style.

    Those tech tree images are out of date, would be nice to have this page updated with 2.2 tech tree

    wat? there are are auras in empiers?
    i can only remember the slight hp-reg when u are close to the squad leader.

    scout gets a shotgun instead of sniper rifle? lol
    a shotgun isnt the weapon of a spy/scout ... or is it a silenced shotgun?^^

    The new scout is intended to be close quarters special forces, so the shotgun is a perfect fit.

    the new scout will (probably) not be much of a 'scout.' it will need a name change, but first it needs to be determined exactly what it will be doing.

    [that's a joke...I don't mind the shotty option at all...although I do believe it should be shotty and ranged rifle options (and maybe take out the smg's?)]
