I was just at the CINEMA and saw a movie with 3D, so what's the command to make empires into 3d?

I don't expect it to work, but it could be cool if it did.

It wont be the same, the computer will probably render the image in anaglyph 3d(red+cyan), and the 3d they use at the cinemas now is a polarized filter that makes one image project in one eye, and the other image project into the other eye.

    Shutter Glasses.

    Use them.

Not really. You need to render twice as many frames, and have two separate cameras in game. It'll chop perf by about 25%, likely.

twice the work but only one fourth the power needed? idk that just dont sound right to me ...

i also heard you should at least have a 120Hz monitor ...

i heard it cuts the frames per second of your monitor in half, since one frame is the left one, other frame is the right one etc

no it magically increases your fps by 50% and THEN halfs them :p

60HZ is fine. 120 is preferrable.

For the perf, think about it: You're rendering twice as many frames with two viewpoints, but you already have the textures loaded and have done most of the work on the frame already. If implemented right in hardware, the perf hit is only that what USED to be 60 FPS is now essentially 30.

well i have textures loaded anyway - but rendering from 2 viewports sounds like twice the work actually Oo

A lot of the work/delay is simply loading textures from memory (which, is incredibly slow.)

Again, hardware optimizations can be made for this...it comes down to whether they were smart about it.

Into RAM, sure. Into the videocard's texture memory? Nope.

Roflol did you really believe me?
alt+f4 is as old as the f10 "joke", except it works for all applications.
you'd have to never used a computer before to fall for it.
I like how you put that in your sig though :D
