Were the hatches lined up with the turret connection points? Like I mentioned earlier, if they were, then it probably IS possible. Otherwise, I'd be interested in how they pulled it off before.
The only other thing I could think of is to simply make a counter-rotation, each time the turret rotates. Otherwise, if it is not possible to do that, then you would indeed either have to limit the parenting to translation only or move the hatch attachment point directly onto the turn axis of the turret.
Still better than that ray tracing solution some people came up with, when that idea was suggested the last time.
