2-Tier upgrade system

    So, instead of having 1 stage for every upgrade like we do now, how about 2 levels? Say you get the repair upgrade for engy, at the next level you would be able to get something like "Repair II" which is an even better version of the original. Maybe like an extra 50% increase to repair or something. Is it possible to have a system like this? (With the possible exception of Health)

    Most class specific upgrades are already strong enough.

    perhaps he means half the current upgrades and second tier gives current bonus.

    I guess level 2 skills would tend to be either imbalanced or useless.

    Besides how would radar stealth II or defusal II or melee II work? I mean you could add extra functionality (melee tanks? Psychic ranged mine clearing power?) and divy it up between the two but at that point you might as well make new skills.

    Its probly a good idea for certain skills though. A second tier of stuff like health, repair, revive (combined with the first one reving at 10 hp or something) could add interesting specialization and "character builds".

    I do agree about things like stealth II and melee II being useless, but defusal II maybe could give you the ability to pick up mines or something like that.
    Something like "character builds" could be interesting
    and maybe even useful.

    That sounds pretty good, but instead of the second tier just giving you the current bonus, it gives you some extra ability + the current bonus.



    As for why, it could add a whole lot more specialization and an interesting ability tree, the current ability system is pretty boring atm and leaves much to be desired.

    Then give the current abilities the "fun" part, instead of making vets / basebitches even more OP :)

    Dudeee Kamikazeeee....it'ss been awhile...I remember youuu anddd c-ray...and donut...aaaand GenBrown...aaand OMFG...aaanddd...yeah.

    Also, I'd say this would need to reduce current class-skills by 30%, and tier II would boost them to 10% more than the current. But that's the only way for this one to work.

    idk, but i just assume nothing changed much - and usually this is right in terms of empires :P

    but the skills should all be equally usefull, before you think about introducing tier 2 skills ;)
