or just a way to indicate a building is neutral (a model with a flag tied to it and 3 skins?) and then a vairable that can be set in the entity to bind it to a flag if the mapper wants capturable nf buildings then he places those etc etc

I would be surprised to see ancient MG turrets still working, one would think that they would be using lasers and other 'futuristic' weapons to showcase their advanced technology.
The ancient civilizations in empires are technologically inferior to the modern-day BE and NF. An no it's not alien. It's like the Romans compared to modern day Europe.

ability for mappers to place starting vehicles for each team, and maybe even be able to create special vehicles, weather editing flags for a vehicle placed on maps, or editing a VF flags so it can create like a "super" tank or something, etc, i think would be cool
I think we all agree that these ideas are awesome. I'm always up for giving mappers more tools, provided it comes with documentation. =] All the shiny entities in the world don't matter if you can't figure out what does what sensibly. Anyways, I think we need to start creating a master TODO list and prioritize certain ideas.
