Cool, cool. Also, what plans are there for new weapons? We have.. |MG's| Std Chain gun/Medium Chain gun .50 cal/HMG Depleted Uranium/HDU Plasma HEMG BIOMG |Ml's| HIT Warhead Homing/Upg/Salvo Guided/Upg Upg/Salvo Bio |Cannons| Plasma Rail High-Explosive Extended Range
All weapons need an overhaul, for example every time I use or fight against guided/homing I think why does that weapon deal so much damage if you dont need skill to use it compared to shells.
From what i've seen, all the current plans involve new weapons which will be spread out among the different trees, and then a weapon tree will have an overall damage type, or damage type for both rockets and cannons, which armors can be balanced to. So don't be surprised to see 1 slot weapons other than standard issue soon.
To be honest I'd prefer HEMG to be a cannon, with the new sound and tracer it feels a hell of a lot like one.
...Dual HEMGs? How the hell would that work? I guess what you're really getting at is that we need a high-accuracy cannon that's not railgun?
Me likey Though, the UI could use an overall. Why not do something like this (stolen from the Wiki)? Its much easier to work with and understand the tech tree when its all on a single page. Also, you could incorporate this with a queue system where I click on 'Reactive Armor' and it begins researching all the needed tech for the armor.
Unnecessary? Sure. But don't you think it's important to give newer commands a break on having to make (another) mental note to continually research, and not knowing what's next?
No, I personally think its not a problem. There are two commanders, if there is not one smart guy willing to command on a team the game is over anyways. I suppose "the team" could/should/would care as a whole, so, yea bug someone else I think it takes a coder 1 hour to find the correct place in the code and probably a fuckton of work. Add to this that you have to rewrite 100 lines of script. Let alone that you probably want nice pictures for all researches which means having those pictures and 2 hours of scripting. Add to this the uncertainity that a huge picture like this will fit on 800x600 or even 1024x screens and you know why I think this is a waste of time.
Wow, fail programming? No one thought to use objects and separate them by file? ex Hud.cpp, Hud_Com.cpp, Research_Display_Box.cpp, bla bla bla...
I really find it hard to believe that krenzo built all this without using some kind of way to organize the code. If it wasn't well... organizing it would only take about a day and save thousands of hours of looking for functions.
