I thought I would create this thread to spark some of the interest in the 2.25 release and anyone wanting to know more about it. Check the new website download details. I am not a dev, but want to get people interested in the game. Can't answer any development questions. Anyone else you knows other changes that have been made please add. First lots of particle changes for just about everything. Barracks cost 200 Advanced APC spawn is no longer in the research tree and is standard. Mark IIs are gone. I guess Advanced Grenadier is no longer in any of the research tree - not sure what has been changed in the class itself. Start with increased ammo. District has an overpass in the middle to stop grenade spam and mortar spam Vehicle Limit is 25 per map. All I can think of right now. Researching is displayed in the top left corner of the screen with time left displayed Speedometer for vehicles
I have checked the release thread but when I read it didn't say things like barracks are now 200, the release log is in more of a code based language. Plus hoping more forum goers will take interest in the game again once they hear more about the changes. This game has been around for 4 years which is a long time and 2.25 has been expected for a real long time, lots of people may have moved on or taken interest in the game again. I gave up on age of chivalry a while back but once I read about the update I picked up the game again for a while because they added new graphics and a new hit system whenever they released the update for it so some people may have that attitude about empires.
Upg and Adv gren are removed and instead, RPG damage scales up for the larger tanks. It does like 33% extra damage to heavies I think.
Which obviously is trivial enough to leave out of the changelog? Also: Sneaky: Research bigger tanks -> stronger RPG Trickster: These are all horrible ideas. They do nothing more than aid the winning team. Empires 2.25: RPG is stronger vs bigger tanks.
Wait... Does NF researching heavy tanks give NF stronger RPGs, or BE stronger RPGs? Giving NF stronger makes more sense from a tech point, but BE makes more sense from a 'argh, we're gonna die' point.
Sneaky, those changes were done like 9 months ago, as in the heavy having negative resist to RPGs etc. Drag did them before he left.
