    I really like the idea, but I would change some things.

    My idea for the hints was more to have a tutorial mode for beginners (suggestion: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=9398).

    So you should see a hint for every thing you are currently looking at. And the message shouldn't appear in the chat console but in the middle of the screen (like admin talk).
    And this tutorial mode should be enabled and disabled in options.

    Hell I think we should have voice hints like Bf2 not txt hints

    And have the option of turning them off ofcourse.

    We have some code from Smashball that has to be adapted to Empires. But KaneTW is a lazy bastard and he "won't have time" to do anything of it.

    The new hints are really great.
    Can you add some more range to show the hints. Right now you have to touch the building to get the hint.
    Also hints should be disengageable in options menu.

    And currently there are only hints for buildings. More hints for player classes, skills, vehicles (especially cv) would be great.

    PS: Hint for NF radar is the same as for BE radar.

    Best feature ever implemented. Adding more for tanks and the calculator and the boomtank would be awsome too.

    id say add more range, make them pop up faster, and fade out as soon as the target building is no longer under the crosshair

    Can we have support for voiceovers that play when you look at an object that has hints as well?

    id do some voice overs with my voice if the texts where rewritten (because they are full of errors and weird wording

    I messed with the commentary system one time, it's brilliant for a quickly thrown together tutorial.
    We need someone with a sexy voice and code support for a 'tutorial' button, we can use escort or urbanchaos since they have most features players need to know, and we don't even need to modify the map.

    I think that HSM should do any commentary required. Make the newbies feel like fresh recruits :V

    Finally found that you can disable hints with emp_cl_hints_enabled=0.

    This should be included in the options menu.

    We need someone like me or HSM to do the voice overs "This fucking building is used to spam out fucking jeeps for the retards who don't know how to drive a REAL FUCKING TANK!"

    Joking on that, however I do agree the voice overs would be a interesting idea. I also think maybe clicking E on something like a building will make the tooltip come up. As well as making the tooltip more transparent then really clogging up the bottom of your screen, or maybe something like Garrys mod where you can have tooltips pop up as special text on the side of the screen above the chat menu.
