So I found the VMF(minimap) for this map in the materials folder So you guys know anything about it? was it a failed map?
I downloaded 1.07 a few days ago, and the bsp is in there.... ... I looked around it for a bit... its not too brilliant. D:
when i played 1.071, i dont remember there being a gauntlet, maybe it wasn't in the server rotations cause it sucked so much
The map is giant and grey, it wasn't very fun to play. It also has giant bridges going over the spawns, so you could camp up there and even jump onto buildings and vehicles, making it difficult to guard the base. It also encouraged scout camping with the ranged rifle.
having looked at the minimap, i think i remember this map, did the bridge go really high into the sky? If so, this was my 2nd empires map, and i thought it was a unoffical one.
wasn't it used as a league/match/scrim map? because both sides have an equal environment and it all comes down to tactics...
Yeah it was an optional league map. It was dark and gloomy like badlands. New maps look more like Halo :D
Here's an old screen shot of what usually happened when this map came up Fun fact: The SMG1 didn't have any animations here.
I think it might be harder on comms than streets of fire. If you didn't know how to rotate and manipulate the view before you will after gauntlet.
i don't remember it being that bad a map too, just a bit more...colour :D and flipping a cv upright again is half the fun in empires! 0o
Maybe I'm probably alone here, but I actually liked that map, a lot  It made for some really drawn out battles, and epic jeep racing - ah them was the days :p
just needs a little reworking and more avenues of approach rather than the simple straightforward chokepoints that are very limiting and easy to cluster**** up with a lv3 farm. also that bridge above spawn is just bad idea, move the starting rax's up on top and if the svr has parachutes u can just hop down to the rest of yer base. can anyone give permission for this to be re-done? i agree with razor that its not that bad of a map and definitely has potential to be more versatile.
