[2.2] CVAR for 9 mining

    I am in 100% disagreement on the removal of 9 mining.

    So, how about a compromise: Can you guys put in a cvar that allows server owners to enable it in 2.2?

    A+ would support again

    honestly, 9mine is one of the few ways infantry can take out tanks, unless you can get the entire team to go grenadier, and even then, where's your tanks?

    Then whats the point of defusal? Atleast with normal mines a tank can actually go through small areas with defusal. With 9 mine, there is no option to go. You die or do nothing. I find it completely unfair that one infantry can hold off a tank easy just by laying in wait. Where is the balance side for the tank? Atleast with normal mines and defusal, infantry still have a chance to nail kills if someone walks on mines while tanks are nearby, therefor blowing them both up. Tanks on the other hand have no chance unless they get out and find the grenadier :o

    I'm sorry but I'm 110% against 9 mining if it's left as is. It's not balanced.

    Well from my understanding 9 mining wasn't removed because of killing defusal drivers (which is an escort ONLY thing). It was removed because of greifing and sploits (Flippin your cv or getting an APC up somewhere).

    no. 9-mining the CV is bad. How about the 9-mining would be still in, but CV would have an immunity to mine damage? Would that be any good?

    Here's my logic:

    If 9Mine never existed.
    Would anyone be demanding we add a weapon that requires a skill, needs you to fill up on ammo, and allows you to do about 2500 damage instantly without warning and without a 100% countermeasure, that can be wielded by each player and takes about 10 seconds to fire.

    It's an exploit, used to gain access to areas outside the normal gameplay area. It's not coming back.

    well then comrade, why do these areas even exist?

    isn't that kind of thing stopped by good use of invisible walls?

    Unfortunately, clip brushes do not block vehicles, something i have urged the coders to fix for some time now.
