I was standing in our base one day, refilling ammo, and I heard "the commander is under attack!" I ran over, and nothing was there. This has happened a lot, and I was hoping that it could be fixed, or someone tell me I'm wrong and/or crazy
Nuke, if you're calling me a noob, you're ignorant as hell. It's the ninjas I'm checking on, you know, the people that sneak by and try to disassemble your tank. Do you really think I wouldn't know if our base was under full attack from tanks and infantry? Think before you post. It also seems that other people hear this audio randomly play, so it is a problem. Go home kid.
It happens to me too, my guess is that sometimes when one of your vehicles are attacked the game plays that clip. I wanna say it's the jeep, but I don't use the jeep so I'm not sure.
Well it's set to play every 5 minutes if your comm IS under attack, IIRC, as to not ninja spam our radios.
I thought it was 30 seconds :/ Anyway, the point is that there isn't even a commander in escort, so how can they be "under attack"?
Hmm. I always assumed it was the commander in god mode that took "damage" and this triggered the sound. This is obviously not the case on escort. I suppose we need some more testing on it to pinpoint the cause. List theories to test out so we can get rid of it.
I always hear this sound if any commvehicle is under attack. That means the game does not differ between teamstate and just handels the sound to all players. So if you just here this sound an you know that your cv is NOT under attack you might ask if someone of your team hits the enemy cv....
Could be, good thinking. It might be that, or the message is also assigned to play when another vehicle is attacked(as thaile said.) I thought maybe there was something about the map(s) that triggered the message to play, but since I don't know much about game creation don't pay much attention to me. I'll keep an eye out for more possibilities though. I've never heard it play on escorty btw.
No idea why it happens on Escort, but on other maps I always thought it was because the CV takes minor damage from driving into objetcs and whatnot.
AH HA! THATS why that happens! I always wondered. Thanks for enlightening me. The message itself is pretty obnoxious. I remember when Comm could get killed by 'looking' over a man if the explosion was too great. But I digress from the point of this thread- are u all being serious when yo mention that its set to go off every x amount of minutes? -straylight
