Hahaha, i'm sure all you griefers and exploiters will find some ways to cheat My only regret is that i couldn't get the volume of the sounds of falling rocks higher. It's on max but you still barely hear it. Then again, the wind is a bit more clear and a subtle volume has its charms. Did any of you comm btw, i was a bit afraid the overhanging cliffs would annoy the commanders in the top down view. The top cliff layer isn't solid for the comm camera, but even then it might be annoying. Not that i can do anything about it if it were.
I asked bentor while he was commanding, he said it was totally okay. Got to check that myself. I loved that some parts have that little steep passes, where you can force an APC up to the next "floor". That really helped fortifying the passes with APCs and turrets.
thanks silk for your new maps, it is great to have a few more smaller commander maps. It is so much needed nowadays.
Glad to do it Although ... no more repetitive cliffs like this for a while. Damn it got boring towards the end Now all that remains is actually playing it. Same goes for Keef's Havoc, which i'm still looking forward to
That was what i thought, though i don't see how that's possible. I tried to reproduce it but had no success
Yep, thats it. Really? Huh. I figured it was just some forgotten block brush or something. Let's call it a feature then.
I would have come to the same conclusion But no, the 3 bottom layer surfaces are all solid, so brushes to block stuff aren't necessary. Both grass and rock are completely solid. How that turret did what it did i do not know. I admit i thought about adding cheats into the map only i would know, but i never did Even managed not to add massive boulders falling down from up high when hit by explosive shells etc. In a way i regret it, i'd have loved to read the comments the very first time a massive piece of cliff came down and crushed everyone.
So, I can arty trough all the upper layers? gotta try that. Btw, why is downfall not part of epics map rotation???
I haven't gotten round to re-adding custom maps yet. I'll do it when I'm back in the UK in a few weeks. As for newer maps, I haven't uploaded them at all.
I finally figured out how to get the colors of my recordings right: Downfall on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLAQJyefT-U Recorded with Fraps, converted with Virtualdub (with some hugely important setting changes) and uploaded to YT
