I've never heard anyone go "thank god the NF heavy rifle has been fixed!" or anything of the sort Change it back.
You have to consider that it does 35 damage a pop and has decent falloff in comparison with other weapons. At the ranges that it's realistically useful at, it'll still be hitting for above 25 damage, at a range where no-one else can hit you. If you take damage upgrade, then you're looking at more than that. And that's fairly balanced. But sit at close range with damage upgrade, and each headshot is doing 77 damage. That's a fuck tonne in comparison with other weapons. To put it in context, about a week ago in a game I was in, there were 7 people behind a bunch of walls all fighting, some rifleman. I ran round the corner, went crouched and just opened up. Killed them all in about 3 seconds flat. And that isn't balanced. If it had a higher rate of fire, it would be even worse.
how does a slower rate of fire allow people with higher pings to be able use the NF heavy rifle? wouldn't it be much slower for people with high ping now?
They are the dumbasses who let you walk that close to them and then sat like ducks. Don't balance the game on those idiots. If you can use a long range weapon up close successfully then you deserve the bang that it brings. It's a lot easier to hit people with that gun far away then them right in front of you strafing around. Like I said before the 50 cal was fine it was the BE carbine that needed change.
For the last god damn time a 10% bonus is fuck all. It just went from 25 to 27.5 Seriously. That is barely a change.
At closer ranges, it turns a headshot from 70 to 77. That IS a lot. Either way, it should still be 20% imo.
Or at father range, 24 damage becomes 26. 30-31 becomes 33-34. The 10% often means the difference between one or two extra bullets, and when guns did real damage it mattered.
