I don't think you should add map specific tips. Just say something like on certain terrains, mines blend into the ground much better.
when sneakishly assaulting an enemy barracks as lonely engineer, first place an mg turret and build it, then start grenade mongling this will make sure that if infantry spawn to help, by the time they fixed the turret out of the way, the rax is down when betting, always bet on duke when you are attacking the enemy cv with a filled apc always check on your own commander regulary, if there are a lot of people there to help you, it means the guys standing in between the enemy and our main have to hold off an entire army each time you use suicide, you lose a day of your real life always bet on duke
Empty: Protips with images (new loading screens): http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=12490 Maybe you can use some numbers from this posting: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=11938 Here some other tips: - You need 13 seismic grenades to destroy a barracks. They don't hurt infantry and tank. - Stamina Increase is a useless skill. If you want to run faster use Speed Upgrade. - Health Regeneration is a useless skill. 1 health point every 2 second is only useful when you are planing to take a long walk. - All vehicle skills (cooling, damage, armor, speed) are too low (10%) to make a big difference. - Don't use the scout rifle and camp. As scout sabotage enemy buildings and sticky stun enemy tanks. To kill enemies on long distance get NFHR or BEcar as rifleman. - Don't let bio damage go down to the tank hull. It takes a long time to repair. - If you see an enemy vehicle or building in a dangerous position inform your teammates by looking on the enemy and pressing f w w. - Don't be squad leader if you don't know how to use the squad points. - You will receive more points if you stay near to your squad. - The NF command vehicle can be trapped by building a turret underneath. - Before you die again and again at the same position have a look on the minimap and reflect if it won't be more useful to get refineries or attack the enemy at another position.
Protips. Like stuff that the people in this thread would want to know. We all know that seismics are bad agains infantry.
Empty: What should happen with these protips. I thought that they should be added somewhere to help new players like the hints for the buildings. But you are searching only for tips for veterans? Flasche: Thx. Fixed my posting.
These are protips, things that might not seem apparent even to veteran players, not newbtips. That's what the manual is for.
it must be something that "veteran" players (why does this make me think of people in wheelchairs?) can find interesting stuff in
while shooting any tank cannon - hold down space bar. this reduces recoil, improves accuracy and prevents your tank from moving.
Apparently soft collisions are a bug. It's meant to be no collisions, and afaik Mootant fixed the bug yesterday.
Wahey for progress! :D Protip; desabbin' takes 2.5 seconds with repair upgrade Protip; if you use up all your engy ammoz, it's quicker to regenerate then restart building than it is to build and deplete continuously.
Always drop ammo crates in the start of the game, that way everyone have max ammo once the battle begins so they wont run out of ammo midway. Health regeneration is great for infantry-fights so you dont need a engineer. Stamina upgrade is a must for scouts so they can flank into good spots to snipe. (just make sure you got max ammo first so you can stay there for a long time! ask a engi for a crate) Ammo upgrade is great for engineers so you can throw more seismics at buildings. Dmg upgrade is the #1 skill for riflemen! As a scout, remember to use the binoculars on everything you see that isnt infantry. That way everyone on ur team knows whats going on around the battlefield!
nf mines blend better into the mvalley ground. I don't really think they go invisible on duststorm, specially with how bright that map is. It's basically snow instead of sand. And on top of that its so wide open its easy to avoid mines and predict where they will be placed.
i find using 'bind "mouse3" "emp_menu_quickcmd 2 4" ' to be useful on non-comm maps to give your squad a single target. More useful for small district games or 1v1
