its faster and better early game to run to a location and get there first then to be there late and not able to build it additionally, on gamestart its mostly faster to take speed upgrade and build it with normal build speed then to lose time running slow and building with build upgrade
Speed boost is 10% iirc. Repair upgrade is pretty much a 3x increase in build speed on a major building because you don't have to wait for the recharge time. So unless there are 16x maps repair is faster.
Didn't really read the thread, just jotted down a few things. Might be outdated. General advice: Mortar jumping is extremely painful. Tanks are able to mow down infantry at a surprsingly low velocity. BE KREDIT TO TEAM! A lone scout picking away at enemy soldiers is generally not considered beneficial to the team. Try to sabotage their critical building to lower the entire team's production rate and weaken their units. A mortar square in the chest will kill most infantry units, but is generally difficult to accomplish unless you're experienced, or the target is standing still and not firing at you. Try to keep both your RPG and mortar loaded at all times as a grenadier. Aircrafts are not yet implemented, don't ask for aerial support. As a commander, make sure you check the area around you, it is also recommended that you lay down a few turrets to protect yourself from 'ninjas'. A single grenadier with 8 deployed mines and a mortar shell can kill an enemy command vehicle. This is generally frowned upon, but amusing nonetheless. Headshotmaster - HSM - is considered the empire mascotte, try to record him and upload videos of him on sites such as youtube. Machine pistols are amusing and extremely hard to aim properly. Standard shells are ineffective against infantry, use the tank's machine gun if you have no other shells available. The sticky grenades can also stick to players, enemy or not, this can be utilized on an unkowing charging ally to get some kills. Unreliable at best. Potentially hazardous to the user if target realizes what has happened.
8 mining doesnt work anymore unfortunately :S And standard shells do quite good damage. if u hit it ok its arround 30 and a bit damage, that combined with mg is kinda deadly.
Eh? I haven't played for quite some time, but i recall it pretty much destroying the enemy cv, the mortar was just used to spark some movement to detonate the mines. And you're really better off saving those STD shells for other weak vehicles, the explosive radius is pathetic, and being able to survive a shot square to the chest is laughable.
Y'know, if ya manage your stamina properly you can pretty much keep up with someone who's speed boosted, stop using sprint when it's almost drained, and dont let it fill. Draining it completely will slow ya down and it'll take a while for the stamina to begin refilling.
Someone who's got the speed upgrade will most often arrive at the destination 10-20 metres before you (on fairly large maps like canyon). This is only a really good thing if you're not going to just die when you get there (like me), so it's best taken with a more combat orientated class, which will utilise the mobility of speed to be quite devastating.
Actually aiming at the enemy when shooting is helping to kill. Take sticky bombs with you whenever you do not plan to get into a situation where Frags are helpful. You will more often encounter Vehicles then entrenched situations. If the revive engineer is too far away and running to fast and you are not skilled enough to keep your crosshair on him to kill him, keep aiming for the corpse he is going to revive. start shooting as soon as he comes close to it. He will probably run out of charges after two revives. Most people do not expect anybody charging at them when both sides are entrenched. Rofles mostly are focused on the main combat lines in front of them and will not realize imediatly that they are being flanked and their support classes are being killed. Use walls for sightcover to flank. Downside of this: as most people do not expect anybody charging, also you will not be able to convince most people of your team or squad to charge. so you will mostly be alone. be aware of that when flanking too. Even if you can not see the enmy, shoot about the area were he might be. Many take cover, shit their pants and mistake every random hit for aimed fire when hearing bullets hail down around them, rendering them useless for their team. Give props to (noob) engineers supporting much by healing, dopping ammoz, placing walls and surveillance to encourage them doing it more frequently. Flame engineers wasting their support abilitys by shooting at enemys they wont kill anyways to discourage them doing so. Side effects may include: dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, water retention, painful rectal itch, hallucination, dementia, psychosis, coma, death, and halitosis. Magic is not for everyone. Consult your doctor before use.
Right click to toss nades with out losing hide. Press [ or ] to zoom in on the mini map for smaller inf and conquest maps to make seeing stuff easier. Put your spray some where on the map and back up and spin around then jump and try to hit the spray with your mowtar to work on your aim.
Attack enemys from the right side. Since Voiceicons, killmessages and minimap is there in the gui now, the chance he notices you coming from there is much lower.
DONT DO THIS! You will normally just die or the CV gets easily walled. If you see the other team bring a party APC to your base just GTFO and have your team kill spawn. You can always rebuild.
Dual small Arty actually is a awesome defense weapon. just find a ramp facing downwards to where the enemy probably comes from and you can go into direct fire on them.
