Seriously, The bullshit about maps is getting tiresome. Every time anyone tries to make a new map, there are those who feel the need to say things like kill the map, take it off, or it just sucks. I would love to see some of these same people bother to take the time out of their week and try and make a map. See just how difficult it can be to make it, and then maybe you won't be so apt to bitch about it. Maybe well should just all let it die completely, then these people wouldn't have anything to bitch about.
What about destroying maps? Can we still suggest that? But seriously Doc, we love you and every other mapper. Nothing will change that. Ok, well commandergrad 2 actually would change that, but that's an exception.
i dont think he complains about negative feedback, he actually asks for it - since what does positive feedback help other then pushing ones ego - he just rages about nonsensical feedback like "its bad".
Fighting against someone you think is being unreasonable with a logical fallacy is probably not the way to go.
What about when they start complaining that you ignore them and never respond to their mistake-riddled posts? :X
Exactly... I want negative feedback on what is wrong or what you feel would do better.. The only way maps get better is with real feedback..
I know, I actually like that map, well thought out lanes, good overhead on both ends. Side assault near enemy main..
It is in every way on par with our decent official maps. The balance is kinda weird but then again, we have cyclopean.
Streets of fire is just irritating to com on. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing slaughtered get "destroyed". It's just really really bad level design. Like most maps have mediocre level design, so we're all kinds used to it, but slaughtered is just bad. Everything is a chokepoint and everything is a boring slog. I give commandergrad shit, but its level design really isn't THAT bad.
Its got like 45* slopes in a game that plays like shit on slopes. Dont even get me started on vehicles. SoF has crap com compatibility, yea, but the fact that one side has a much easier way to control about 70% of the map is a bigger concern as far as im concerned. Oh and fuck people camping on the bridge sides. Easily one of the most cancerous features on any map ever.
Yeah, slaughtered has many balance issues, the most noteable is the fact that early game nf can be completely stifled if be captures their bridge side choke point. nf on the other hand, even if they capture be bridge side, effectively has not cut any choke point at all. If the backside nf route were extended to connect with sbend area access like be's seawall bridge, this would become less of an issue. trimming down sbend corridor on both sides would open that up more. But this would also open up be rax placement to easier bombardment, so its a tradeoff.
I would say SoF is almost as bad as Cyclopean, in terms of balance. It's just we have more cyclopean games than SoF. In terms of map design, Cyclopean >> SoF.
