Hey everybody let's play a PUG on February 15, almost 2 weeks from now. Click here for your local time. Edit: Disregard that bst, should have been GMT. Sorry about the confusion Sign up here if you want to join in on the fun. You can also sign up here in the empires pug group, just leave a comment there. If we can get 30+ player by the 12th I would like to do a captain's pick for teams and maps, so if interested in being a captain say so in your post. If it doesn't quite reach that we'll just do a regular free to join game. So I don't think captain's pick is gonna happen. For maps I think something like: Canyon: to help get the server full we play a familiar map Midbridge: I saw two people wanting to play it, server should be as full as its gonna get by this point which would be good for this map TropicoVendetta: It's fun and a bit different than a standard comm map. For the fourth map we are going to do an in-game map vote between Streetsoffire, eastborough, and theinternetisforporn. Though we may end up playing the older version of internetforporn if Vicki doesn't update the server with the new version. Should still be plenty fun. We'll play whatever doesn't get voted in next. 4th I don't know, if server still has 25+ I would like to try another custom map like silo or homeland, if less I know complete said eastborough but I want to stick to comm maps. Can I get opinion on this? Server will be decided on the majority of people signing up. As in if we end up with a lot more euro players on we will play epic, if not we will play viper. Edit:So far it seems like a decent split between states and euro players, whats your guys opinion on this? If no one says something we'll just play on vipers. Server is 184.154.117.106:27108 [VIPER] PUG Server. We will be seeding in viper's pub server, get in and have some fun. Security says he will be on to do admin stuff if necessary, though having another admin on board would be nice.Edit: AZK is also going to be on, so we have admins aplenty. Be sure to invite your friends for the fun times ahead. If you want to join but can't get game to start try these fixes: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=18146 http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?p=458631#post458631 Missing startup_loading.vtf fix here I thought I would list the people attending so far. So in no particular order: Edit: Apparently it just erases white space, who knew. Oh well, no proper formatting for me it seems. A-z-k Viroman BitterJesus Candles Lazybum aaronpmc Grantrithor eGo MB MetricMike complete_ Sgt. Security Neeony Spike Nihia YouzY wookie Wealthysoup Freaknovich Mcgyver LT Senor AwesomeNoooo senor, you will be missed People that I think are a definite but haven't quite said in a direct manner: DDDDestroyer bobiskris People that are a maybe Cookie Monster Trickster Bigteef Doc Rabbit So hopefully 25 people so far, that's starting to shape up for a decent game.
Are you talking about BST or GMT? Theres no point using BST in the winter. Stuff like that just totally confuses everyone
I'll be there. I can admin. I highly recommend everyone checks their install works before to avoid frustration. Lets start playing Empires again Gentlemen.
Whoops, didn't know. Yeah I kinda just copy pasted the format from something azk did. will change accordingly.Edit: so today I find out I can't edit titles, how sad.
Use steam events and everything will be fine was what I found. Steam sends the announcements to 500 people at once and all people need to do is click to join a server. I wouldn't worry too much about getting the numbers. Build it and they will come. But we are gonna need to go all geek squad on her helping people with clientside problems XD
I hope so, I've seen I think it was guns and whammo do announcements occasionally but like 10 people would show up at most. Then again there was like 10 people on the server at the time, if there is like 25 people more would show up. I do hope those 2 links on the bottom of my post help with tech support. Edit was hoping for a good amount of signups, just because I kinda like the idea of preassembled teams.
I'll be there. In the past though, we've had issues with trying to do captain's pick. People not ending up with who they want to play with, teams being filled with all of one type of player (riflewhores, vehicle drivers, etc.) and not enough of others (revivewhores, base bitches), the pick not being done far enough in advance, number disadvantage due to one team having multiple people not show. In theory, preassembled teams would be the best, but other things tend to collide with it and make it work out not so well. In actuality, just telling a bunch of people "Hey, lets all play this day at this time and we'll definitely have admins on just in case" tends to work out pretty well. Either way, I'm already there.
Count me in. Security's like an elevator: soothing music, lights that are just slightly too dim, and a carrying capacity of 8.
I though elevators had a weight limit, like 500kg or so. Or, using american units, 3 and a half person.
Elevators do have a weight limit, but generally (at least around here) they estimate the number of people it can hold based on average weight of a person. I'm assuming this is so you don't have to ask the mildly rotund man who is about to get on if he is over 80kg since you and your friends come up to about 420kg altogether. Also? I have no idea off the top of my head kg from lbs conversion, so 80kg may be a rather skinny person - I just wanted to use your units to fit in. Most elevators can safely hold as many people as can fit into them somewhat uncomfortably, and have cables that can carry twice this weight. This is a thing I know because the elevators in the engineering building on my campus terrify me, and I need facts to make the trembling stop.
