Hello all, I just want to tell you a new map made by me is being made now. It is a remixed verson of Money with, -Highly effective bases. -And a real place to fight besides 2 walkways. I hope to have a beta out as soon as reasonably possable.
Good point, it is still diffrent enough that if he doesnt allow this to go I just need to mod a very few things but still thanks for reminding me! Ha ha I feel stupied. The wiki diddn't tell me who created the map, just the devopling team so I asked the leader. Although the map is very diffrent from Money overall you will be able to see where I got the idear if you play the map. If Doobie will not allow me to create the map since I am copying him I will channge the map around and the name.
Decompile? Like I know how... No the only way you can say my map and money will be the same is by a few things. Base looks the same with 2 exits and the ramps. The walls have pillars evey other little lentgh of road. Same ammount of ref points. The rest is updated and I try to make it seem that way. The quality will be a lot better than Maze and this will be good.
You should make some super infantry sized ninja bridges!:D Or just make some sort of walkway under or inside the bridges so infantry can walk through it. And then get shot by the 13 billion turrets that are set up by the exit. But you can walk through it. :D
No I am completly removing the bridges for a more natural field, witch will have 2 main paths. It is very diffrent from Money but it does reman the same in some ways. I am working hard on it and it is based on Money, not a total remake but still has the feel of money.
Well, you could have some super infantry sized ninja paths!! :p They could wind up through some cliffs or something like that. Empires really needs more (non-push) maps that are more balanced toward infantry. That's what I tried to do with my map project, before I dropped it. Ironically, I dropped it because of vehicle problems. :D
I say if you make it more natural and a bit more open for tanks to freely roam, then kudos to you... (I wouldnt make any super ninja bridges... maybe just a respawn flag/super res node in the middle which is only infantry accecable, something to promote conflict)
i say make the base impossible to build VFs in....good riddance. infantry only FTW. nothing pisses somebody off more than having loads of infantry, than somebody pulling a fucking tank and decimating them.
I am currently having a problem with lighting, using too much data when compiling. Damn lighting. I do like the middle flag idear for infantry. I have not finished yet, but it could be released but it would be realy flat in the middle, and some other areas. That is the stage I am in right now.
I suggest that you dont rush making it, and instead take your time... so that the first time we load it up it will be a sort of "OMFG WTF PWN" sensation
Try not to make it really flat in the middle. There should always be something blocking visibility to cut down on lag. If you choose to block vis with a displacement, put a nodraw brush underneath it so people don't moan and bitch about "OMFG 1 FPS " Just take time, optimize, and above all make sure it is fun to play and looks good.
Update on this. I am a lot farther with the map. I have set it all up so you could even play it now but there is a few things I need to do before I call this finished.. Things To Do- Add fog in the middle like emp_money so you can't see the whole map at once and lag. Make the field in the middle have nice hills and change the textures on them. Update any textures I think need to be fixed. Things Done- The map can be played. The lighting is close to what I want. Nice and kind of dark. Have a middle fort for infantry and a spawn. +1 Rez. Calling it Emp_ReMoney . The two bases are elevated and there is an infantry entrance and exit to bases with tank ramp need to be built. (Once ramp is built it can't be destroyed.) Ask Stu about the map, for a 3rd person view, not just the mappers view. I got to play with him with my beta map.
Displacements are evil. I hit a snag where the displacement and props have no collision mesh. How can I fix that?
ReMoney means RemadeMoney. Yea that is the basic thing. If you want me to I can chance the name even more.
How do you "chance" a name? I think it should be called something like emp_2fort or something, because that is what it reminds me of.
