I don't understand why people hate anime so much, why does the medium that a story uses make any impact on the quality of the story that it is telling? Some stories may be better suited to some mediums rather than others but that does not make a medium bad in and of itself.

 

Same reason I dislike heroin, it is an inanimate object and thus cannot posess any intrinsic good or evil properties, but as a rule, everyone associated with it is a complete pleb, so you attack the object in the hopes of removing the symptoms.

 

That however ascribes a level of power to the object, that is the power to change people into something worse, that is not supported by the facts. Correlation does not imply causation and all of that, while heroin as an addictive substance has an obvious way that it effects the behaviour of its users, the method for something information based as anime to have similar effects is unclear.

Following on from your line of reasoning what steps do you take to make it not a problem? If it is in a similar class of substance to heroin then simple dislike and flaming will be useless.
