Definitive Cheap Particles

These particles are identical to the normal particles in terms of visibility blocking, lifetime etc, but they are much much cheaper.


The downside is the materials have been heavily downgraded, you'll be able to play fine, and it'll never lag again, but do not ask for it to look pretty.

They may not suit your taste (being heavily low quality) and if you install them wthout backing it up it is your own fault.

Instructions:
Extract to empires\particles. Overwrite files. Launch empires.

Oh God..even Red Alert 2 had better particles than these.
Isn't there another way to cheapen them up without them being..big squares?

I love the explosions in the screenshot. Reminds me of old console games. (Or TF2's old muzzle flashes.)

Though, I always figured the problem with particles was overdraw.

 

It seems our particle artist was heavily inspired by Minecraft. :D
