The HEMG Imperial Medium Tank Introduction The End Result Explanation & Reasoning Note on the ML Research Path
Absorbent and salvo sucks Only retards put more slots in front armor ( Sides are bigger targets, back is faced towards enemy while fleeing, easiest to dodge when facing enemy) Salvo and absorbent sucks. 3phase is in an entirely different area. Better to just to coolant becuase people overheat the HE expecially when you pressure them to use HEMG with the cannon. Luckly noone will do that because they will only take the cannon like a smart boy. Salvo and absorbent sucks. Cannons are good ranged weapons, you don't need HEMG to snipe tanks because moving while firing messes up your aim. Either you stay back and sniper with HEMG or you drive and shoot your cannon. Did I mention absorbent and salvo sucks? Also, when you research all those weapons, noones going to use it because people know better than to hoard weapons. You'd have to be building tanks as a com to get people to use it. Also everyone will get UML cuz salvo sucks kthxbai
Fricken_hamster, according to my stats, he's picked the best weapons in the game by MT rating. His armor on the other hand, I can't tell you since I never worked it out. Salvos very powerful if you use it effectively, ISTD is ridiculously powerful for it's weight cost.
But to use it effectively, you'd have to be like right next to the enemy tank, and not to close that you aim over it. You will almost never hit all your missiles, so its better to go with uml. ISTD is superpowered for BE :<
That's the problem with UML for this layout. That's two plates of armor gone right there. Having three weapon systems on your tank is very costly on your weight availability. The double ML also weighs less then the UML.
I would rather an extra plate on the front than the sides in most cases, since its the side taking damage when you try to pin another tank Although side armor is more valuable for things like nade boats
Salvo will actually do quite poorly against armors with - speed modifiers. Of course it will wtfpwn stuff with + speed modifier.
As hamster saying, front armor is usually the least important armor, you are far more likely to lose any other side before the front, with the back being the most fragile.
Nice text MiamiHeat87. Maybe we should put something like this to the wiki. I'm also trying to give medium tanks a chance. Me prefered research for them is: NF: Absorbant armor -> always armor first Upgrade ML (and sometimes HE MG) -> HE MG only on open maps Upgraded chassic -> LT MK2 works with standard engine Coolant engine -> needed for HE canon and mediums HE canon Medium tank BE: Absorbant armor -> always armor first HE MG -> because HE canon for MKII takes some time will research HE MG more often Coolant engine -> needed for HE canon HE canon Upgraded chassic Medium tank Upgrade ML -> After medium tank because 2xstandard ML aren't that bad
I havn't looked at the scripts but salvo has 4 separate projectiles which effectively quadruples its speed for the purpose of damage
Absorbant and reactive scored the same because they both suck. Try reflective out, strait on it should perform about as well as absorbant, shoot it at an angle and it should perform like comp (but without the nasty +5 speed damage). The things you are going to be fighting all game don't have any speed: Mines, rockets, mortars, missile launchers, stickies and as BE definitely tank missiles (well, not much speed). If you are going to win with mediums you need to rush hard the second you get them, meaning your going to face massive infantry spam and UML lights. Thats a problem because you have nothing to kill infantry other then that cannon, and absorbant will eat shit from gren rockets. Plus by the time you collect all that stuff from all those different trees you are only going to have a minute or two before they roll out 2xUML heavies, and with only a IStdCn to kill infantry you aren't going to push very far forward in that time.
