To streamline communication and alleviate breakdowns in communications, I suggest designating each member of a squad with a number. Naturally, 1 would be squad leader, where the rest would be designated in the order the others join, taking after the system used by ArmA and ArmA 2 for communication. http://i44.tinypic.com/r74ql4.jpg For example, on the HUD, you would see the squad roster as such: Delta Squad (13 Points) [E] OuNin 100 [1] [G] OuNin 100 [2] OuNin 100 [3] [E] OuNin 100 [4] (This is probably the best squad assembled in history.) On the HUD, these numbers would be placed within brackets [#] above the green squad arrows or wherever in the back idk. ([2]> if they're too your right, etc.) On the minimap, all squad designations tagged with players would be followed with their number. This would help squad leaders keeping track of their units and teams can find who that god damn scunt hiding behind friendly lines is or who needs a structure or whatever without having to deal with some weird-ass name. "DELTA-FOUR NEEDS REFINERY AT A-4."
what about typing # + a number from 1 to 5 wordfilters to the name of the guy in your squad c#4 could wordfilter to the guy in charlie squad on location 4
+1 for a good idea. Something like the halo 3 system of a 3 character tag was suggested, but fizzled. +1 for having a way to get rid of the annoying nonstandard character names. +1 for having more than 1 +1
So we'd end up referring to eachother by number...like.. "Delta 4, REVIVE DELTA 1" "Delta 3, Cover my ass!" Is that what you're suggesting?
If someone types D#2, then delta squad member 2 should get some sort of notification that someone needs them. Nothing annoying or abuseable, I would say just make the text in a slightly different color, or bold, or whatever. That way, when loosers with no mics ( :p ) want me to help with something I'll notice their text amid the torrent of garbage and lols. Thats why I added [WTFace] to my name. People would always be like HEY UHHHH, YOU, FUNNY FACE GUY WITH THE GOOGLY EYES!.
what about a small bell ringing like, charlie squad has 3 players in it [1](E) Nick [2](S) July [2](R) Mark mark types in chat "C#2, please change your class to an engineer, we need one!" what everyone can read when reading chat: Mark: "July, please change your class to an engineer, we need one! July gets Mark: "July, please change your class to an engineer, we need one! Mark: "July, please change your class to an engineer, we need one! Mark: "July, please change your class to an engineer, we need one! flashing in color for a few moments, and gets a little bell ringing to attract her attention to the chatbox
I like the idea and i am going to use this oppertunity to bitch about squad/local voice chat. I want squad/local voice chat!
Just have it come up in HSAY, where the voting takes place. Every server has hsay on it because of SM.
