On maps where engineer can't build walls, it would be cool if he could build a ladder. Often when I play, the teams get stuck, nothing moves. And after 15 minutes, a Flag get rushed. Much better, I think, would be when there was more movement and more taktik abilitys.
Then remove turrets also. Then the only thing you need to worry about are riflemen and their death rays.
Need a boost? Jump on top of a turret. You shouldn't need any more than that (though I do hate the fact that enemies jump on top of turrets routinely and deactivate them safely).
Not only would that unbalance every map, but it's also impossbile to have dynamic ladders. Walls are used as stairs in some cases, a ladder would only make it look like we allow it.
If the mapper wants ladders, they can put buildable brushes that accomplish that effect, can't they? Chances are, though, when a map has a no-build area, it's there partially to prevent people from building wall staircases. So this is a silly suggestion.
no he only told someone that hes wrong, you can think of it as a minor flame if that makes you feel good
Krenzo himself said that it's impossible to get ladder entities to spawn dynamically, and that it would require assloads of work for asslittle benefit to code new ladders.
I think the fact that you can jump on top of a turret to deactivate it should be taken out (though I have exploited that a few times :p ).
Turrets are not particularly powerful outside of infantry maps and Crossroads. And those are map issues, not turret issues; overall I feel turrets could actually use a boost.
Missile Launchers can actually be quite painful on Slaughtered. I don't think a "boost" is an adequate solution either. If they were too strong, then they would gun down any infantry other than grenadier (and scout) too easily. I suppose the only real thing for it is to come up with various means to bypass them, and to redesign most of the maps in circulation now.
