2 evenly skilled tank drivers hitting all hits right on as quickly as possible, a dual rail gun heavy will win every time. they can hit faster than any NF tank combination. If you are killing dual rail heavies with a medium, they are either shitty drivers or are very shitty drivers. 1 dual rail just driving in and spamming can rip through at least 2 mediums before a group of 4 take him out.
okay let's remove NUKES and RAILS... and BIO MG and of course DU HMG. why? rails are powerful, bio mg infect and du hmg is able to destroy armor/vehicles. the problem is NOT that a weapon is powerful/usefull. the problem is that NUKES are OVERHEATING immediately and stun the enemy vehicles (and perhaps the own too). it ruins the flow of the game. NO FLOW - NO FUN. i have no problem when i getting raped by a doublerail heavy. if they have researched it and my team not... it's our fault BUT its still fun to attack the enemy heavys with light tanks or try to sticky them. nukes only turn the battle into pure shit.
heck, why dont we just remove everything? cause at the moment, every dam noob (recon and blakkcopper and others) are pretty much trying to remove everything. why cant you just be fine with the fact that nukes take a long time to research, costs alot to buy, and, they can be easily overtaken by experienced people.
Nah the problem is that nuke tanks are usefull even with regen / biodisal. So you can rush to nuketanks and spam like 10 of them. With cautious tank drivers you win they are near impossible to beat. Reducing heat could fix that and its not a trainingserver problem
The most important part about nukes is not their damage or the heat they inflict, but their very very wide area. Nukes are generally a very bad idea to use in one-on-one tank battles, but in a situation where you can easily hit two or more tanks at once, or where there's infantry / turrets hiding behind cover supporting the tanks, then nukes become much more valuable. The right-side passage in Slaughtered is a good example, when there are lots of people on the server. I've seen that settled by nukes several times. (Most people will say that infantry should already be obsolete by the time nukes become available -- but a nuke can hit a tank on one side, and instantly kill the engineer hiding behind it on the other side, repairing it. No other weapon can do that so well, and on a map with a very tight long chokepoint like Slaughtered, infantry are comparatively hard to flush out with other weapons -- you can damage them, but not fast enough to keep them from ducking back into the tank after repairing it and letting it live that much longer.) But generally, nukes are only good if you're reliably hitting more than one tank at once, and only if there are other people on your team supporting you with higher DPS weapons. Otherwise they're going to overheat you more than the enemy, and you'll end up doing less damage than them... plus, while they have a wide radius, a complete miss with a nuke is often a death sentence.
Firing a nuke when in red should damage the tank with the amount of heat you go above, that'll stop them from going on for too long. That makes plasma a very effective weapon against nuke tanks as well. There, 2 problems fixed at once.
Can we also remove the bio tree? And heavies, also no more reflective or composite, it's all imbalanced, also light tanks and APCs need to be removed, they pollute too much.
Even though I don't like nukes, it's not as though they can't be disabled with a simple script. However, it does limit the servers you go on. It'll just be like CS servers which advertise "//NO AWP//NO DWP".
Nukes (in a normal server) only get researched late game if your winning and have most of the refs.. It's suppose to be the final blow to a losing team.. But thanks to servers with upped res/faster research/tank training maps you guys post threads like this..
Srsly play with maksalot as commander on a normal setting server. He often gets his nuketanks bevor the enemy commander has meds. Standart res, standart research... I didnt believe it too bevor I played with him some games...

Oh hell. If you let the enemy research nukes with no reliable counter of your own, you DESERVE to lose. Nukes need to be prettier, though. Some kind of localised blast wave/screen blurring/blinding/deafening effect? Just to make it look as devastating as it is.
