Map I've been working on in collaboration with Cyber for a while now. Game play focuses on acquiring LAND as well as resource nodes, as much of the map is unsuitable for a base. Here's a cocktease for now, a SHITLOAD more pictures will be posted tomorrow after the current compile is done.
Yessa massa, I'se mighty sorry, these RAD full compiles sure go slower than a jack rabbit in summer! Also, disregard that minimap, a certain someone fails at making them.
Haha, that was the game where I turret spammed the BE's base *points to top left corner of the mini map* It's a beautiful map. Very hard to drive vehicles on though, but thats a feature :].
that is absolutely beautiful. i mean that. that is shockingly good. lighting, land design, everything. more open, natural looking maps is exactly what empires needs.
Yeah, those are on my to-do list. One of the things I noticed was how it was hard to notice some paths. However, I've corrected this issue thus far. Overlay roads will probably make it into the final version.
Not my fault people have a hard time seeing the paths. Of course I made most of the paths, so that could be it. Also here is an image I like. Win
Hey, you make maps the same way I do Or close to the way I do at least. Unless you use a terrain generator. I would recommend doing the roads in the first version, even if the map is full sized, it should only take you about an hour at the most. If you set all the displacement surfaces in the overlay entitity, you can basicly copy and paste them, and just keep adjusting them from there.
1. Bridges look bad. 2. Map has quite a few flat surfaces. 3. Another chokepoint map like emp_slaughtered. Might look nice but not a lot of fun.
Ugly is a harsh word arklansman. You need to be more positive. I like this alot. how ever Unless this area has mima mounds that terrain is to bumpy to be naturally formed by water.
these are special alien mountains formed by advanced brenodi bombs And this is far from a chokepoint map, there are many ways to get around. Infantry can take the high road, while vehicles are confined to the flat spots.
Speaking of ugly I actually think that adds to the atmosphere. It puts me in mind of a old polluted swamp. And from the looks of it yes it will be full of choke points but only for vehicles. Low hills and water pose no obstacle for th autonomous bipedal fighting units:p. But yea all the small mounds could be worn down more but the over all shape of the maps hills look fine. Keep up the good work.
