So I was thinking of doing some mapping but need some info from Candles, Beerdude, or other people who have / had code access. I know some where down the line someone was working on AI.. Is the sdk 2013 AI code changed or is that still 100% stock ?
@ candles, Beerdude, or other people who have / had code access.. AI is part of source. Just need to know if it's 2013 sdk. Or if it is the modded not finished AI that someone was working on years ago. They just have never been set up in Empires maps. AI for Empires wouldn't work as is cuz things are different. But should be able to hook values to have waves of NPC's attack set locations and / or find targets and just cause some interference in between the NF and IMP battle.
> has never made a map for Empires (or any source game idk) > wants his first map for Empires to have AI in it ok.jpg
Trying to play normal maps with 4v4 is kind of boring. People been asking for single player maps for how long ? AI is a way to solve both problems. Also this really goes to show the main issue with Empires.. Ask a simple question about if something is still sdk code or if it is modded code. In return get this from the person who was lead developer.. Then you wounder why Empires is in the state it's in. It's kind of a simple question. But by your reply I can tell it's a simple answer also..You have no idea..
You already got an answer from complete_lamer. There is no AI. I don't know how we can make this more clear.
There is no AI and npcs doesn't work in empires. You can try this by using the npc_create command. Like: npc_create npc_headcrab It'll say that npc_headcrab doesn't exist.
I can tell you that all the npc code was ripped out, they all had individual code files that weren't kept. As far as the base AI code, I don't remember porting the modified Empires files over, so that shouldn't be anything different, but if there are any particular files you want to know if were modified, I can find that easily enough. The custom Empires bot code was copied, but was broken to begin with and as such wasn't modified to work with 2013.
there is this new fad, it also shows in current european politics when it comes to greece, where "there is no" means "not what i wanted to hear"
