Empires: Unity There has been a lot of talk of which engine the new Empires successor is going to use. We are happy to announce that the successor of Empires is going to run on the Unity engine, now in full open source as requested by multiple users. The game is currently in an early alpha but we will continue to post updates about it as it continues to grow. Early Alpha screenshot Funding We've taken a lot of inspiration from the game "Star Citizen" in how it allows their users to buy starships for real money. Therefore Empires: Unity will allow users to buy vehicles and aircrafts for real money which will be much stronger than the standard vehicles the game offers. We believe this will give those who spend more time on the game a much higher quality time. Github link, project will be added here at a later time.
As a current developer of Empires, I am pleased that we've finally brought this project to the forefront of the community. A large number of previous devs have been brought in to help make sure this becomes a glowing success. I myself have been dedicating all of my spare to help make sure this project grows into fruition.
i assume the relaunch of the empiresmod.com homepage is meant to coincide with the imminent launch of this game, or do we have to pay for that one too?
i dont like the tickets on urbanchaos. please change (and if you dont agree i will post the same thing 3 pages later)
Just to confirm before I pay $350 for my capital class comm vehicle, this thing will allow me to simply run over and demolish enemy buildings from the start right? Inb4 Hobbes class that can't be walled in.
But the hobbes class comes with no wheels by default and only a limited number were sold to fund lower cost jeep packages. There was a poll about it a couple months ago.
Oh, how much is the rumored back-to-the-future comm, which can hover over water, and the comm can teleport if it can somehow get up to 88mph. BTW, so glad we are moving from the archaic Source (2004) engine to the modern, cutting edge Unity (2005) engine. Inb4 Source2 is at least mostly compatible or can be ported to from Source and empiresmod lives on in current form and unity version goes nowhere.
Please everyone remember, this packages are sold only to help funding development. If you lose your tank/CV ingame then it's gone and you will have to buy a new one.
Now if I think about it, even shotguns eventually became real. So Iam not sure what to think now I guess that means we need some insurance system No insurance for hobbes though
That's great, just like my idealized and totally perfect vision of the united states the world, no social safety net. I can't wait to spend my hard earned cash on this game.
