Recon (A1): !ban Vulkanis 0 "Look, this isn't a good idea. Everyone in this thread with a brain has told you so. Just to drive the point home, I'm posting this."
At first I lol'd too, as Recon clearly had been caught right? But then I realized his alt account nick is "Recon (A1)", Recon covered in the popular steak sauce, mmmmmm. The catch here is that his alt account doesn't have admin. Still owned me thinks.
My apologies. Let me fix that... Recon: !ban Vulkanis 0 "Look, this isn't a good idea. Everyone in this thread with a brain has told you so. Just to drive the point home, I'm posting this." Your forum name is soundspawn. Let me be more specific: sm_addban [notpostingyoursteamidhere] 0 "Happy now?"
I didn't know sourcemod worked with empiresmod.com forum usernames, that's neat. What exactly do you think you're banning me from anyway? It's okay, STEAM_0:0:7791719. Steam ID's are completely exposed and unsecure, your community page can be converted your Steam ID for example. I'd demonstrate by listing numerous ones here, but instead I'll take you not displaying mine as a sign people still get upset to see that theirs is known. I will take requests however
It doesn't, just making a joke... Exactly. I won't cover what I could demonstrate... It'd scare too many newbs...
lol good good, trying to joke back So about the awesome commander vote system... as a serious question (and now half theory, half thought experiement for the future projects) would it help to (possibly as an option) remove the number of votes for each opt-in? The snowball effect would be nullified because you'd just have names and know your vote, like default rtv/mapchooser. Now this has a higher chance of "splitting the popular vote" or in other words a player widely considered a bad choice could win because the majority did not pick the same "best choice" player, but it could be a step in a better direction. Perhaps hint at the winning two opt-ins with 10-20 seconds left so people can change their votes to one of the two highest voted in time. I don't know, just throwing it out there, haven't thought it through much.
