I was thinking about how often people run out of ammo, and the idea came to me... how about a Tank/truck/thing/batman that gives out vehicle ammo within a certain radious? Like a portable armory!
Yes, but engineers can't always drop ammo crates, and in the heat of battle, you can't always stay near the crates.
if you make the supply batman able to give a large shot of healing to tanks (say like 3-5 seconds of engineer healing, but only works every few seconds) then you could have a useful combat role (rather than just being the equivalent of an engineer's ammo box). if a friendly tank is smoking, the batman could help it last another hit or two and that maybe enough to get it behind friendly lines.
i have yet to see lack of ammo play a significant roll in gameplay. Whenever anyone is low on ammo, simply spamming the ammo request is usually sufficient to get SOMEONE to show up. THE ONLY case where ammo is needed would be in one case, that I have created myself: the heavy armed with ONLY mls chews through ammo like no tomorrow. If I use this, I have to be an engie so i can drop my own ammo crates nearby after i inevitably run out of ammo. If this were a MAJOR issue, I would suggest simply giving the APC the ability to give out ammo at a VERY short radius. But it really isn't a problem, so that seems unneeded.
I can see it now; a Supply Batman roaring across the landscape, throwing ammoz every which way and at unsuspecting allied tanks, creating a sort of hellish 7.62mm snowfall
I knowz that...but just in case we make sniper tanks we might need it. Honestly, think of the future! :p
