thumbnails are for people that either play @ an extremely large resolution or are to shamed for their graphics quality to post the bigger picture wide in the open
Or thumbnails are for people who don't want to wait 2 minutes until the whole page has been loaded and see there's not so much to see.
I have an example of thumbnail picture in my signature. Kind of. You take the link which the image hosting site gives for forums and then you have two pictures. The thumbnail picture shows on the forum and in the same time it is a link to the normal sized picture. Simple.
I think BBCode works... anyways the IMG tag do work so you might be able to construct a thumbail through that

A few moments of fun in empires: trying to get to the top of the tower: 150 cameras throwing a nade and getting knocked off, and falling to your death: priceless building walls to write giant grafitti to prove you are 1337 enough to exploit the map: you know you've been playing too long when, your entire team, gets tanks and rams your comm up on its back wheels, all the while wearing nearly the same wrong imitation of your username: Then, for commanding these fine troops, getting rank points for it: and finally, funny moments from way in the beginning fo the game, one from before BSID was created, and when I was laughing my ass off at how creepy it was that the eyes follow you: and remember that emp_island exploit? the hidden jeep herds of the east. OWNED! here is our prizoner. we made him dance. ...NF's secret weapon located tank battle :D how many tanks? (this was today). this was after a litterally epic massacre. me and headshot master burst into here and just gunned everyone down. we could hear him laughing for about 3 minutes after that. after all the tention and build up of the teams lining up, this was so awesome.
Heh, on one of the games on slaughtered today the NF tried a sortie on the BE assault, but managed to get stuck in their own base entrance managing to flip one of their LT's and get a bunch of APC right in the middle of a bunch of BE meds. Fun times.
