(despite the fact that they are unfinished - at least what i know, correct me if i'm wrong) but anyway, the codebase and concept/fitting is a much bigger issue! (but what about serious bomber/dropship combo, and fighter/gunship like in bf2142) as examples! - please don't take them to much! This is because it was agreed aircraft would not fit in empires in its current state and scale, and such further development of working aircraft has ceased years ago, and more recently all code has been stripped from the game. The game would require a new engine like Source 2 or UE4 to reconsider such a possibility
who made you the expert, you havent even asked him what he is going to use this for... It would work great as is for skybox props for example.
Whether as a skybox prop or as an actually usable actor model it needs more detail. And certainly no flat shading everywhere. If you would have actually looked on sketchfab you would have noticed that it is not even a closed hull. There are spots where you can look inside the model. This does not mean it is a bad design in any way. From a technical standpoint it just needs a lot more work before I'd agree on putting it in game. As for who made me the "expert": Nobody said I was. But 4+ years experience doing technical 3D art is enough to give a proper critique on a model beyond "Oh this looks so cooooool!!!!"
again, you haven't asked him what he is going to use it for. ive seen far worse models appear in the hl2 files.
No matter what this is going to be used for, it is too low poly in my opinion. Hence I do not need to ask.
