giving targets

    As commander when you give targets and you have multiple people in the red box it will assign the target to the enemy closest to your mouse insead of closest to the player you are giving targets too which is fucking stupid.

    tldr: when giving targets it should be the closest target to the player not the mouse

    Commander targets should be removed completely again and given to the scouts binoculars.

    At that point I think the class should be called "Officer", then if it can spot things to show up on minimap/mark things. Would make much more sense tbh... and remove the useless scout for a squad lead role.

    pretty much, also i still dont know why you can target walls while A-dragging

    but which one is the closest to a multiple selection of players? currently you get to pick a single target, so which would it be, the closest to the average of player positions? that might even be the furthest from each player - and if you pick the individually closest you basically go back to mass target times where its best to mindlessly drag a box across the whole map.

    but what if they are on opposing sides of the enemy? basically N-B-B-B-N where N is a nf and B a be guy. which be guy to pick?
    the closest ot the furthest away might still be the furthest for a lot of your selection.

    when i give targets i basically scan with a and a huge box and then drag a small one around the guy i want.
    for me nothing will change, im also not completely opposed to it. it just came to mind before.

    That's how I do it. I use it to scan for all people in the area then select the closest one.

    I never draw a box over enemies, always over my allies then the enemies I would draw a box over N then a box over B , then the other n over B if I were N

    If I were B Id draw a box over the target I wanted them to kill first.
    But with my system it doesnt matter, which n-b is the smallest distance, pick that one if you draw 2 large boxes

    Frankly, if you are A dragging while having many units selected it should just give everyone their closest target

    but then you only do that anymore and you could just automate it completely.

    At this point we might as well have 2 commanders, one who drives and one who drops buildings. :)

    Could a dev reply if they are even willing to change this, no point in us discussing this if they cant or wont change it. Same for other threads, some dev commentary on wether something is good bad or undoable would be nice.
