We had TS for squads and in-game commander which worked pretty well - We could always hear the Capt. & Comm, for the most part the squads were very responsive. Even if we had all used in-game we would have been fine. The most important basics were covered - everyone knew what squad they were, who the leads were, what they should be doing & what was happening elsewhere on the map in near-time. If you watch any of X's videos you can pretty much see that his walls made the game so much easier for us. Our calls were clear when there were wayward APCs or tank pushes and X effectively shut down any vehicular momentum long enough for a neighboring squad to float over and plug the choke points.
i watched the replay and im convinced you guys won solely on having a very very good commander and most of the luck handed out that game...
Xya is a great commander no doubt at all, I'm not sure how much luck we had though. We had good calm communication, people were relaxed, all game anywhere you looked people were doing work but it isn't like we got to dictate the pace throughout. That Arty hail-mary though... I love Arty but its not a great play on that map, you can only hiot things in whatever lane you are in.
It's crazy that Tango managed to win what appeared to be such a stacked game. If Whiskey doesn't get too demoralised and not show up next week I think it'll the outcome will be very different.
Scoreboards tell me that teams were balanced. TBH, if anything, Tango was slightly favored. Saying Whiskey was stacked shows how much you know about the players on Tango.
Ah, the old "I'm so fucking pro that I will tell everybody how I always knew the outcome of every round after that round occurs, even though I spent 4 hours and actually made a fucking autistic player ranking and scoreboard beforehand that predicted the other team to win" post. Security, I'm going to guess that the only thing better than your skill at empires is your prowess with a katana.
