How come flags get a fancy icon on the minimap and refs STILL have to be painted on manually using mspaint with 5point brush intensity? It can't be that hard to do the same for refs as there is for flags. The way flags are now, they are noob traps because nobody cares about that yellow splotch when you can go to where that cool large grey thing that CHANGES TO YOUR TEAMS LOGO WOW COOL
I would change the icons to mini dollar signs so it emphasises that we need these to get resources. Money talks more than anything and I think a cash symbol would be perfect.
Is it so bad that it would just be easier to rewrite the minimap code from scratch? Also I bet the minimap netcode is all server-side as well lol, most of the things being shown on the minimap could be done client-side (except for things outside of the netvisdist range).
Perhaps, we're looking into that. Server-side? Wat Server sends data to client, client draws it on minimap. That's it.
Well, once the port came out and the major issues got fixed up, term started again for me and stuff got really busy, so I haven't done much in terms of development in the past few weeks except for a few small things. Beerdude's the one with all the momentum right now. That and Dark Souls II happened.
