http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=648 It's awesome. Cherry MX Blue switches Awesome clicking sound.
Same switches, but I don't want blank keys for now. Also, Filco keyboards are better than Das Keyboard IMO. Besides that I can always put blank keys in.
Keyboard with clicking switches? My keyboard from my first PC (386DX40) had this. I should still have it somewhere. Strange that you can buy these old style keyboards for a lot of money again ...
thats because this kind of keyboards are a million times better actually. i too have a cherry keyboard :D
I don't see what all the fuss is about for old keyboards. I get $5 used Dell keyboards from my universities surplus store and they work just fine.
i never could understand this people actually buy this shit? Its a normal keyboard, without the letters, how hard is it to buy one and do this yourself for 50% less cost... Makes me sadden.
I lol at the ignorant. Logitech keyboard costs 80, and they're shit. These are quality keyboard that will last you a very long time. They're priced at a premium quality rate, which isn't over the top for computer peripherals these days. If you've never had a IBM model M keyboard, you should refrain from coming anywhere near this thread, you have no idea what you're getting yourself into.
... Did you ever have a mechanical keyboard? Did you ever type on it? I bet you haven't. This counts for everyone else who thinks that this keyboard (Edit: or Das Keyboard, w/e, same internals) is overpriced. It isn't. Look up prices for Cherry MX switches... http://parts.digikey.com/1/parts/965598-keyswitch-face-plt-mnt-click-mx1a-e1nn.html Also, Scardy, try typing on a mechanical keyboard. You'll see feel the difference.
Lol, I've been using the same shitty compaq keyboard that came with my old compaq desktop for like 6 years.
I noticed that i just love pressing keys slowly just to hear that click... One thing that sucks though is that N-key rollover just fully works when using the keyboard via PS/2... else it's just 5+control special keys I think (41235, yep, 5 keys)
Yes, I do think that the das keyboard is overpriced. I think its a typical high end modern keyboard with only one fancy thing that still doesn't make it worth it. I am talking about THAT ONE keyboard, not about mechanicals, dont change my point.
labtec is the best of the "cheap crap" category (the one everyone has, besides for the "gamers" who buy expensive crap and the nerds who buy expensive decent stuff) sure labtec has crap models too, but if you know what to buy then you are golden for almost no price with them i have 6 labtec ultra flat keybords, just because if they stop making them i dont have to change (6 should be enough to last a lifetime of work related use)
