Commentary on competitive matches is a pretty standard feature of many RTS games (just look at the plethora of Starcraft and StarcraftII narrated videos). Now Empires has its very own version. Presenting commentary on the BSIDvJPL match from last Saturday (April 24th, 2010). BSIDvJPL Match 1 (Part 1) BSIDvJPL Match 1 (Part 2) Credit goes to Cpatton for coming up with and organizing the idea/match.
OH and it was my birthday on that day And turn up your voice Also, you need more enthusiasm. And actual commentary on the game as a whole instead of individual events. More player Bios as well. Naming the commanders on both sides should have been done sometime around the beginning.
Er hey, I dunno if I missed it, but did you guys upload one of these for the EPICW vs JPLSID clan pug matchy thing? Or was it not smooth enough/too long or summat? Also...that's cool.
Working on it. I've been having trouble syncing the video and audio commentary that was recorded in TS. Also, I'd admit these are not the best video commentary sessions. My hope is to inspire others (hint hint) to do it themselves. The best video commentary of games have come from third parties in my experience.
There'll probably be a few Empires-style commentaries coming up, i'll bet - with appropriate "pwned!" and "headshot!" sounds, as well as your favourite micspam soundtracks
Would be nice to have that with more people recording so you have some first person views of players that pulled off some insane stuff asf.
can i commentate one pissed drunk (that i also played in)? maybe next time you could get some first person shots to break things up? and follow individual fights more closely before checking back in on the status of the map at large, I think these things would lend a little more excitement to the cast. god forbid you ever try to cast 60 minutes of stalemate slaughtered though.
I would actually watch the whole thing. If you have ever seen pickled commentate during empirescup games, you would QTF. In addition, lets have half-time music from the capguys.
