Somebody else suggested this before and it was a great suggestion. Put an icon of the CV on the FPS GUI in the top right, it would blink if the CV is under attack and it would also show it's total HP like a overlayed gradient effect on the icon. example: Similarly, the Commander himself should receive visual warnings when he's under attack as the sound can easily be flushed out by other sounds, which means in most cases the "your cv is under attack" won't be played. example: Another way to do it would be to implement a repeating beep sound (not an obnoxious one) that plays whenever an enemy gets near your CV, the cv's own build radius could be used for it.

Yes for the CV damage and under attack icons No for the beeping when enemies are near Not only would this be annoying but it also removes ninjaing. I don't like ninjaing, but it is a good stopgap measure until better gameplay elements can be implemented.
Or you could just fucking get some teammates wall him and decon which is faster and takes some actual skill, rather than sneaking up like a cockroach and dropping 8 mines.
Besides, a real ninja does it in 1 hit, usually requiring 2 players. Still, 1 hit ad its over. If it takes longer than 1 hit, you're not a fucking ninja, you're just a bitch.
I would say the ninja takes more skill. Its really not that hard to block a CV wills walls or turrets.
Whatever the beeping sound is pretty cheap and unnecessary, but the commander under attack sign seems needed given the situational awareness of an average empires player.
