Maybe some varying trees, underbrush, and rocks you might find in a forest or wooded area. I'm trying my newest mapping idea, but it is gonna be a long haul till I can get it down smoothly, displacements are where I stand now. Need to make the actual terrain. (Off Topic: My respect for people who map for this game has increased 10 fold to the status of beyond GODLY, and any help would be much appreciated oh gods whom I worship )
A lot of bespoke stuff about four months ago. I'll be able to model and texture by next year which should help with that.
I was thinking about the lights; how will the lights in empires look? Are they just like their structures, blocky? Or do their cities have more antique looking ones? And if anyone needs the trashcan; I can send you the SMD and TGA files; but you will have to compile it yourself
I think the lighting would depend on the place. If it's in an office building or something, I imagine a lot of inset lights, while more industrial areas would have floodlights and bell shaped lights which protrude from buildings. Basically, the more run down, the more protrusion, the more affluent, the more integration. For the NF I imagine something like work lights on a building site, those ones which are basically a cage light with a handle on the bottom and hanging off a cable. Also some really heavy duty neon/fluorescent bar lights, probably on big sticky out mountings. A pale cream colour for preference I think.
