A day ago I was playing Mvalley; all of a sudden my compter locks up for a few seconds and unfreezes a second later... What happned is wierd... The game went... Well.. Let me just let the screenshots speak for themselves... http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/773/empmvalley0013dg5.jpg http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/4953/empmvalley0015dl7.jpg http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/7452/empmvalley0023hp5.jpg Then all of a sudden the color was back; but it was still pretty messed up http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/9964/empmvalley0028eh1.jpg http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/3296/empmvalley0033ng6.jpg The skybox acted as if it was a camera or something... http://img140.imageshack.us/img140/7258/empmvalley0039br4.jpg Then this happens... http://img107.imageshack.us/img107/9638/empmvalley0045vb1.jpg Is it my videocard blowing up or something?
"blowing up" is a bit of an exageration. Really, it's probably just overheating. Might want to consider using a can of compressed air on the inside of your computer to get rid of all the dust, and try playing again.
But I just cleaned all over the filters a week ago XD Stupid cat... fur getting freaking everywhere...
I got an 8600... It can run source... You saying its cheap? In that case can you buy me a duel core please pretty please?
Now the question is how many dollars = cheap and/or expensive. I normally buy the best card I can buy for $100 and I think I'm cheap.
A radeon 9600 can run source with everything on high except HDR and AA at 1280X1024. A $100 card should be able to run everything on high, including HDR and AA, and cook your breakfast for you.
Looks like those night maps on tfc.... I forget what they are called. BTW, my radeon 9200 kicks all your asses.
My Nvidia 6800XT can go at high settings, but you'd better cool it or you can cook an egg on it easily.
Shinzon I must say, if that was meant to happen, it would be really cool.... My question is this...Have you over clocked anything? that might make your card unstable if not, then I am going to have to agree with everyone else here and go with heat.
Yeah your not over clocking it are you? Because clocking your card can produce artifacts like these very easily.
