As I told Silk yesterday, I only listen to Trickster, whoever commands at the time, my squad leader and squad mates. This totalled at five (Nihia was silent) voices in the sea of communication with the occasional "SPAWN IN THEIR MAIN" by Zeke. Nobody else mattered, I did what I was supposed to. So did everyone else, and so it worked. And yeah, I saw maybe one or two enemy engineers throughout the game.
*pat on the back* and you beat a team that was the diametrical opposite, big whoop. not like anyone didn't see that coming
But that's my point. You have to work at building skill up for months and months, yet cooperating with your team on the day requires no preparation, just respect between team mates. If you don't have that, you can't win anything, yet it's the easiest change to make.
I enjoyed playing with Reznov and co in Bravo on the first round at least. I though we made a reasonable run in the start, we got our barracks up at city, killed theirs and pushed across the bridge. We lost city because of the constant call for kill spawns back to base and it was basically vacant, I was really pissed we had to leave the city because we didn't even have NW or center. But after that everything was just confusing as hell so I just took to driving APCs for the rest of the game. All I remember of the second round was turtling.
Leader (not the guy in CV) - Me Commander (guy in CV) - Lawliet Squad leader - Slade, Security and Zeke/Dz + me managing the floater squad Player - Everyone else
Tell me about it. I had so much fun playing in Cake squad even though I basically relegated myself to hard support; we stuck to one another (mostly) throughout the first game like a giant swarm of death, passing squad leader from engineer to engineer fluidly, such that the squad would just never go down.
Round One is up on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgddQjpaaKE I only left 100 sec of commander vote time, because I was worried about size
5,6 gb using this method: http://forums.empiresmod.com/showpost.php?p=437652&postcount=124 Game was set on 1080p resolution but I was recording 720p and also rendered in vegas to 720p. For any more info PM me please to keep this thread clean EDIT: oh after recording with dxtory in 720p the file was 30gb it was 5,6 gb after rendering with vegas
Second round is up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8tTm9B-hEg&feature=youtu.be BTW I just cant stop laughing at Lawliet when he thought that research is not free...Iam gonna find it and cut it XD
its in second round video 7:25 XD BTW Slade, please put your mic volume just a bit down :D EDIT: oh shit, the second round is without ingame audio...I forgot that I had Solo checked for ts3 recording in vegas -.- gonna be fixing that later ETA 2 days EDIT2: oh fuck, I also forgot to disable resampling for second round vid so it looks more crappy Yeah it should be all fixed tomorrow night
Awesome work on this Neeony. Also, Slade was using a desktop mic on his parent's computer which he downloaded Empires on to play. Because he's too much of a peasant to have a driving license, he left all his PC stuff at university for his Easter break because he couldn't bring it back. These videos are great for me as I generally play as one of the "floaters" in the scrims, so I never really get to see the squad vs squad combat much, which is a real shame.
We'll put it into a news post in the coming weeks. Not sure what we can actually do with regard to Steam. It never really occured to me. Thanks for reminding me of that.
