Rayman made me rage quit and psychonauts gave me massive motion sickness for some reason so I couldn't play it (no other game has done this).
I would rephrase that for games, 90% is the same old stuff done worse. In the case of Far Cry 2, it was buggy as hell but the same old stuff (Far Cry) done a hell of a lot better.
Are you insane? Far Cry 2 was a gameplay nightmare with those respawning guards everywhere, as beautiful as it was.
The respawning guards wasn't that annoying, tbh. Far Cry 2 was near perfect if it wasn't for the "go to point B, get call from friend about side mission regarding main mission, go to C, do shit and return to A for reward" thing. I think I played through FC2 at least 3 times.
It would be a cool idea if you had to maintain your weapons, but I dunno how you would make it fun. It might be a step too far to have your gun jam in such unforgiving combat when there is usually so much on the line during an encounter. Not that everything has to be fun, there is plenty of stuff in DayZ which is boring as hell but it is that hard work which builds everything else up to those moments.
"AHA! Now that I got around you and you didn't notice me, you're dead!" *click click* "Ah, fuck." This actually happened during an Airsoft game near me.
Considering all the dust and shit, the low grade ammo they must be using, the fact that every gun looks like it's been soaking in a bog for a few months; I'm surprised they work at all. Shit, do remember the amount of maintenance we had to do in the cadets? I'm not sure how much the RAF section did but we spent fucking ages, even when it was blank firing exercises.
I only cleaned them twice with the RAF. I remember it was a pain in the ass. Rocket did mention briefly that you "might" have to clean rifles, but he wasn't sure how far he wanted to push weapon maintenance. He definitely wanted it in some form though.
