I believe it has more to do with Steam than Empires considering all my games are doing the same thing but I never had this problem till I got Empires. Every once in a while Empires decides it doesn't want to boot up in fullscreen and all it does is show the big Empires title, flash the main screen of Empires, attempt to go into fullscreen by itself, and crash to nothing with no error popping up. I have tried to hit Alt-enter over and over but nothing works. Rebooting has worked once but not anymore. Besides, I'm not going to reboot every time this happens.
