I don't know about the others, but eth0 at least tends to make some funny remarks. Penis arty still makes me laugh. They are still probably better than HSM, daduck, communism, sonecha or Sodaen sitting in spec talking about their "stuff".
Except when they did it...they weren't the only voices around, and a game was usually going on with at least 12 people each team. I hadn't really seen them when there were just a few people...
I learnt a new word. Thank you w00kie. Daruck, Communism, Sonecha and Sodaen weren't bad though. They may have dicked about, but they were never just outright dicks. Their messing about was never really anything to do with trying to tell people the game was dead, and they were hardly known for spec camping, unlike the guys I just listed. I just played a pub game with 40 people on the server and god was it fun, we actually had coordination and people repairing the tanks that pulled back, managing to come back on slaughtered and win the game. Shoutout to all the nonames who worked their butts off in tanks and with me chasing the damaged ones with calculators, that was great
I pillory your lack of fancy vocables from the middle ages. BTT: I had a lot of good and funny games over the last week, none of them were really exhausting. Had only one raegquit, but that was just to protect myself from a slight metal breakdown. Btw, if you want to piss moonchild off, just start singing songs that address what you currently see ingame ove: Edit: To add some more fire, the first mentioned group (eth0, ..) reacts to any intervention or disturbance of their emo talk either with insults that make w00kies sad or with this (NSFW in West Germany), while the sodaen people where easier to get calm or dispose.
This weeks pubbing has been pretty good. Tonight we had a mix of early & mid game rushes and long ass grinding games where the loosing teams point blank refused to die and stayed in the game with squad tactics until the seige weapons came out. Empires. Still not dead.
O hai :D Yap, Empires is not down yet. We still have a lot of newbies coming in. Though the community, as usual, are kicking some of them off the ship. It's like mowtaring a rax which has 2 engis with repair upgrade, shit's going back and forth, but the rax's gonna die in the end.
I have literally no idea how you managed to survive 15 minutes of arty and UGL and relocate so many times under plasma MG too. First time I enjoyed playing Temple in ages.
Personally I think that this game needs a new server and admins that have at least a half of a brain and know how to enforce some authority. I can remember, when I started the game it was quite annoying that when I didn't do something properly I quickly got flamed by eth0. Then on the next occasion, I was really dissapointed that when I had to hear some vets fhighting over some bullshit instead of helping the team. I quit for about 2 weeks, then i realised that it was not such a bad game, just a retarded community. Personally I just think that the vets feel like they own the game instead of helping others get the grasp of it and making the game fun, just no discipline. That kinda makes the game so annoying for new players.
I don't want to blow my own trumpet, or the trumpet of my server. But the last couple of nights, EPIC has had some great games, especially on maps we haven't seen for a while. It's the first time I've been able to see the server performing properly (without lagging to shit) with the new cycle (no mapvote but viable RTV), as well as being on the newer scripts. I've gotten real enjoyment out of it, and I know that the general atmosphere in the server has just been much friendlier, much more positive. I don't necessarily think that's because of the server, but because that the same people I mentioned, that tend to cause the negative atmosphere, pretty much outright refuse to play on EPIC. So I'm not saying, "EPIC IS AWESOME PLAY ON THAT SERVER", I'm saying, look at how much nicer things are without these people. I'm sure VIPER would be the same if these specific players weren't on it.
I personally like Viper, its is sort of the last bastion of sanity on this community. Although some times the admin are lacks on stuff, if I was stuck with only Epic as a choice I would probably stopped playing.
