What is this crap about Empires being dead?

Seriously, Empires is NOT dead.

Get over yourselves, you who said that Empires is dead. You know who you are.

There are no devs willing to work on Empires. Thus, development is frozen. The code won't write itself...

It's not like you still can't play it. It's just not going anywhere.

This isn't really true, there's currently just no development going on and many of the developers feel it is time to move on.

 

So let me get this straight.

Nah, there are devs, but either they are busy with other things or doing nothing
or both

 

I was under the impression they all (mostly) moved on to a better engine to develop other RTS/FPS blending mods........

Better engine being the Crysis engine I think it was said........ Which means I'm gonna have to upgrade soon to handle all those vehicles!! *fuck*

 

What about bugfixing? can we get some basic bug-fixes?
(note that bug-fix is not new development)

Well, I don't believe this mod is dead, I even think that Empires has one of the most active communities of all HL-2 mods.

And I have never seen a community where people actualy spend their time helping with the development of the mod.

If this mod "dies" and I won't see a "worthy" sequel inthe next 6 months, then I guess that I'll simply quit playing games.

As this is the best game I have ever played and the best community(including the drama and the trolls) I have ever seen.

It may not have superb graphics, but everything else makes up for that.

 

The hell? Clearly you've never played X3.

Marvellous multilingual community which makes boatloads of content and doesn't bitch at each other constantly.

Probably the most impressive community I've ever seen come to think of it. It's like it isn't even on the internet.

 

They mod because x3 vanilla is about as fun as watching rocks grow.

What kind of argument is that anyway? No one's going to care if you quit gaming because Empires goes down. That won't magically get some devs to come along and develop the game more.

Chris, it would please us greatly if you would go participate in the X3 community, thus introducing one of the more annoying trolls of the Internet into an otherwise trollless environment, thus causing the community to whither and die.
