Now im sure some of u are new to the forums but we (did) have a rule about suggesting and the layout of it.

You start of with a describtion of ur idea here telling us about it...etc

THEN most important part, you add:

    Pros:
This is where in bullet point form you say the pros of idea

    Cons:
This is where in bullet point form you say the cons of the idea. And dont just say "there are none" because there are always some like takes time to code...etc

    Alternatives:
This is where you add the alternatives to your idea to try and cut down on the cons.

It makes it a hell of a lot easyer for the devs (and the rest of the community) insted of writeing a mile long essay that nobody is going to read.

AND LAST ON THE RULES. READ THIS FIRST BEFORE U POST! http://forums.empiresmod.com/showthread.php?t=5041

    That is all ^^

    Boomtank Upgrade
Command Vehicle gets upgraded with an automated triple railgun turret.

    Pros:
    • It's awesome.
    • Boomtank!

    Cons:
    • None.

    Alternatives:
    • FOUR railguns? I dunno.

I wonder why nobody uses it. *shrug*

Sometimes, you just forget. Of my 10 suggestions, 2 have not had pros/cons. For those, I must have just forgotten. After awhile people probably forget/don't care.

IIRC you're supposed to use that after the discussion is done, to sum things up, not when you create the thread.

That was an exaggerated satire of other people's suggestions and their approach to writing Pros and Cons.
I've seen several suggestions where people either have no Cons, or they leave out significant Cons for reasons that aren't exposed until later in the thread, during the course of discussion. Most people can't be bothered to think of all the Pros and Cons, and oftentimes there are Pros and Cons that could fit in either category.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong, but that's a really good idea, assuming someone can be bothered to rife through a suggestion thread that's several pages long.

I think you're supposed to put your initial pros/cons/alts then add more when people suggest them.

To the best of my knowledge the pros/cons thing isn't a rule, it's just a way for stupid people to post because they can't write properly, or for equally stupid people to respond to because they can't read properly.

I thought that this guideline was only for the Organize Stuff folder.
It's of course no problem to format suggestions in this way.

By the way who should add posts in the Organize Stuff folder?
